Unicorn
Control your music like you always wanted to and how you remembered…
In 1997 a couple of guys (Justin Frankel & Dmitry Boldyrev) released a simple music file player for Windows. The concept was simple. Download your favorite music from CD’s or the World Wide Web, load them into the player, and enjoy your music. Winamp was a generational icon. We personally believe it is still a strong player even today.
Today a lot of music file players that are included with operating systems are bland, uninspiring, and clunky to use. They are a product of a world where streaming services have taken over music. But if your DNA if from the DJ world, having music at your fingertips is a way of life. People who DJ collect music as sing units of information, files. Unicorn features a record box-style playlist where songs can be loaded into a total of 4 tracks.
Features
The Record Box
No Need to Worry About Missing Album Covers
Player Mode
Robot Rock DJ Mode
A track playlist called The Record Box, not to be confused with Rekordbox (a software we use and love), is where your tracks are loaded.
The playlist features simple text for easy management of your music files. No need to worry about complex metadata that goes missing when your music files become your music files. No more boring album cover default images usually featuring something grey and bleak. Just focus on the music
Player Mode will be very familiar to some users. Once tracks are loaded into your playlist. Play Mode, when activated, will automatically populate the 4 DJ Channels and start playing one track after the next, automatically populating the decks until your playlist is finished.
Robot Rock DJ Mode will autoload tracks into the 4 DJ Channels. This mode will fade the next track in making sure the party keeps on going.
